  Job Interview Tips

Here are some tips for landing that Job in an interview.

  1. Show up On Time - Employers hate people that show up late, especially for an initial interview.
  2. Be Prepared - Expect to have your resume ready to present to your prospective employer. Include your past experiences and what you can offer to the new company that you are applying to.
  3. Be Polite - This should almost go without saying, but be polite and cordial at all times.
  4. Dress Appropriately - You should be neat and tidily groomed at a minimum, what you wear to the interview relates to the job that you are applying for. We recommend that whatever you would wear if you get the job, to dress one level up from there. In other words if you will be working in an office and wearing slacks and kakis to work. Then you will want to wear a suit to the interview.
  5. Speak Properly - Use proper language and not street slang or gutter vernacular. It may be good to brush up on vocabulary before an interview or practice being interviewed by a friend or loved one.
  6. Be Confident - More often it is reported that those who exude confidence in a job interview, usually get the job. Remember, be confident, yet not cocky.
  7. Sell Yourself - Remember that it is up to you to sell yourself, think of yourself as a shiny new car that they will want to purchase. Smile often during an interview and maintain good eye contact with the interviewer.
